Gauteng Health MEC to Launch Chronic Medication Delivery Project

Gauteng Health MEC Brian Hlongwa will today, 22 September 2008 launch a pilot project for the distribution of chronic medicines to patients at Refiloe Community Hall in Cullinan.
The aim of the project is to distribute medication to patients who have chronic ailments at their homes, thus eliminating overcrowding at clinics. Community Health Workers, who will be paid a monthly stipend, will help in the distribution with the support and supervision of pharmacists.
