Gauteng Health MEC to Launch Clinic Committees

Gauteng Health MEC Brian Hlongwa will officially launch Primary Health Care Facility (clinic) Committees at the Grace Bible Church in Pimville,Soweto on Saturday, 20 September 2008.
The launch of these committees is another initiative of improving service delivery, as it allows for the involvement of local communities in the delivery of quality health care at the provinces 343 clinics.
To date, 271 clinics have committees and the process is being finalised at the remaining 72 clinics.The main tasks of the committees will be to ensure that the needs, concerns and complaints of the communities are addressed and report back to the people. It will also be their responsibility to inform the community about developments in their facilities.
